Film Profile
MGM Sarajevo: Čovjek, Bog, Monstrum / Man, God, the monster
This film, by it's concept and form, will hopefully represent a new kind of film aesthetics which could be called „Sarajevo super-realism“, created by Sarajevo filmmakers living within the besieged city with their acquired view of life as imposed by war. The first story is about a film director, the author of five feature-length films and dozens of documentary ones. The man, used to creating reality, is now confronted with the horrible reality which forces him to fight for pure survival. The second story is about a group of actors who are rehearsinf „Waiting for Godot“, trying to discover sense for themselves and the inhabitants of Sarajevo. The third sory is the confession of a young boy who has turned nto a cold-bloded machine that slaughters and tortures, this story defies all the principles of humanity, mazing all efforts of Sarajevo citizens to survive and stay normal seem absurd.
