Trke na Banjici / The Races of Banjica

To honour the visit of Russian Grand Duke Ivan Konstantinovich Romanoff, fiancé to King Peter I’s daughter Princess Jelena Karađorđević, the Prince Michael Horseback Riding Club organized its Fourth Annual Races at Banjica field near Belgrade, in August 1911. Five races were held, with 54 horses taking part, and this short film records three races, as well as the atmosphere of the day among both the royals and the commons.
