NEW SUPPORT FOR BALKAN DOCUMENTARIES

New support for Balkan documentaries
SEEDOX.org is an initiative formed at last year's Wiesbaden-based goEAST FILM FESTIVAL to explore and analyze the situation of documentary film in Southeast Europe. A website, which will provide an overview of recent history and impact of documentary film in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldavia, Monenegro, Serbia and UNMI Kosovo, will be launched in late October 2007.
SEEDOX.org is aiming to stengthen the idea of networking and coproductions in the region. The goEAST symposium planned for the 8th festival (9th to 15th of April 2008) will examine the role documentary plays in the recent history and presence of Balkans.
The project is supported by the European Cultural Foundation and the Goethe Institute.
