Book Presentation: On The Cinema Of Karpo Godina

Both as a director and a cameraman – on films such as Želimir Žilnik’s RANI RADOVI – Karpo Godina counts among the foremost figures of Yugoslav and Slovene cinema over the past 40 years. In tribute to his seventieth birthday the Filmkollektiv Frankfurt mounted a Godina retrospective in December 2013, accompanied by the publication On the Cinema of Karpo Godina or A Book in 71 383 Words. This first monography on Godina includes an extensive interview with its subject as well as numerous archive photographs. This presentation may also be viewed as a postscript to last year’s goEast Symposium, which was devoted to the Yugoslav Black Wave.
